Study Abroad - Program Fees

Aix-en-Provence, France

The School of Humanities & Social Sciences, The French Honors Program and The School of Business & International Relations program fees include tuition, housing, breakfast daily and six evening meals per week, activity fee, orientation, textbook rental, health, liability and repatriation insurance, excursions and scheduled cultural activities. Additional student costs include round trip airfare, lunch and personal expenses.

Note: An additional $260 fee per semester will apply to students attending the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, The School of Business and International Relations or the French Honors Program wishing to take a course at the Marchutz School of Fine Arts. An additional fee of approximately $750 per semester is also required for qualified students who wish to enroll in courses for credit at l'Université de Provence, Aix-Marseille I, the local French university. A $150 fee per course will apply to any Wine Studies (WS) course.*

The Marchutz School of Fine Arts Program fees include tuition, housing, continental breakfast every day, and six evening meals per week, activity fee, orientation, textbook rental, health, liability and repatriation insurance, excursions, scheduled cultural activities, and art supplies. Typically students have gone to Giverny for the fall semester and Venice during the spring semester, but field studies are subject to change. Additional student costs include round trip airfare, lunches, and personal expenses. A $150 fee per course will apply to any Wine Studies (WS) course including cross-listed courses.*

**Students who enroll in the 18-week semester option will attend a January Term Seminar and the spring semester in Aix-en-Provence consecutively. Students are then eligible to receive a $2,985 grant credited to their spring semester invoice. In order to be eligible to receive the grant, students must participate in the Early Start Program during the week between the end of the January Term Seminar and the start of the spring semester. The Early Start Program allows students to move in with their French hosts a week before the semester begins, receive French language instruction, and participate in local cultural activities! All program fees include tuition for 3 credits, lodging with home stays, medical insurance, entrance fees to all museums and guest lecture venues, breakfast daily and six dinners per week.

Early Start Program

Semester students in Aix are invited to join IAU for an optional week-long, early-start program before their fall or spring semester abroad. Students from The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, The French Honors Program, The School of Business & International Relations and The Marchutz School of Fine Arts are all encouraged to participate. Students who participate in a J-Term Seminar + Spring Semester in Aix-en-Provence are eligible to participate in the Early Start Program for no additional cost.


Paris, France

Program Fees include tuition, housing with a French family, breakfast and dinner every day but Sunday, excursions every 1-2 weeks including an overnight excursion to either Vallée de la Loire or Normandy each semester, academic credits for a full course load, official transcript, internet access at Reid Hall, monthly public transportation pass, airport pickup at CDG airport at a designated arrival time/date, medical insurance, on-site director, visa advising, pre-departure and on-site orientation. Additional student costs include airfare, books, student visa if required, daily lunch, meals on Sunday, meals on excursions (breakfast may be provided on overnight trips) and personal expenses.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona Summer Program Program fees include tuition for semester credits, housing, daily continental breakfast and dinner, activity fee, orientation, health, liability and repatriation insurance, excursions, and scheduled cultural activities. Additional student costs include round trip airfare, lunches, and personal expenses.

For students wishing to be housed without a roommate, an additional fee of $1,195 for the three-week summer term or $1,690 for the six-week summer term will be assessed.

Barcelona & Aix-en-Provence Summer Program Combination

Program fees include tuition for six semester credits, housing, daily continental breakfast and dinner, activity fee, orientation, health, liability and repatriation insurance, excursions, and scheduled cultural activities. Dates in Barcelona are June 2 - June 23 and the dates in Aix are June 23 - July 15. Additional student costs include round trip airfare, transportation from Barcelona to Aix, lunches, and personal expenses.

January Term Traveling Seminars

Program fees include tuition for three semester credits, housing, continental breakfast every day and some evening meals, activity fee, orientation, health, liability and repatriation insurance, intra-European transportation, and scheduled cultural activities. Additional student costs include round trip airfare, lunches, textbooks, and personal expenses. Students must check with their IAU Enrollment Advisor for discount eligibility.
